The Cato institute has created a fascinating timeline of Government surveillance over the last century or so. Please note the increased frequency of events starting around 2000. This is not surprising, considering the increasing prevelance of digital data in our lives. My favorite data point has to be the FBI’s decades long spying of that dangerous fringe group… the Quakers.
