Godzilla (2014): Amazing visuals that are hamstrung by an unfortunate focus on uninteresting, non-monster, characters. Pac Rim was more fun.
The progression of video capabilities of mobile cameras, on the other hand, is super impressive to me.
Looking at iPhone 6 camera photos popping up reminds me that photos keep getting better only relative to previous phone cameras. Compared to photos from dedicated cameras (even ones from 5 years ago), they still fall flat to me.
