MBA Kickoff Week

I just returned from a week in Madrid Spain for the kickoff of the Global MBA program in the IE Business School. It was a great trip that was packed with classes, food, and meeting new people. I’m excited for the classes I’m taking. The subjects are new to me so I feel like my mind is stretching. The student cohort is the most diverse group I’ve ever been a part of. There are people from all over the world so every conversation is interesting and different. I was excited for the MBA before going the kickoff week but after spending so much time in class and after hours with my fellow students I’m thrilled.

Madrid itself is a beautiful city. I was so busy that I didn’t get to see a lot of the sights or get the bike rides in that I wanted, but I’m not too concerned. If you have the opportunity I encourage you to visit. I used the metro for most of my transportation, ate lots of pastries and used my Spanish. I’ll be back at least twice more for the program. Just be prepared to eat a lot of jamón very late in the evening.

Now we’re going online. We’ll be joining class sessions via video conference every Saturday with forum discussions and homework throughout the week. Soon enough, we’ll all meet up back in Madrid. I can’t wait.
