The veil grows thin and a new life enters the world.
What will he be? What will he do? How will he change the stasis he interrupts?
Will his sisters and brother be kind to him? Will he be kind to his mother? Will he be right or left handed? Will he grow to lead? Will his hair be red or blonde? Will he love God? Will he like bread pudding like I do? Will he enjoy reading? Will he be a strong man? Will he tolerate lactose? Will he find joy in his own children the way I find joy in him? Will he hug me when I’m old?
Life is questions, and new life is a chance to ask them all again.
