Kyle Baxter wrote a fantastic article on online newspapers:

So that’s what I think newspapers should be: digital-only publications which give readers a slower, deeper and more insightful understanding of what’s going on, and provide the best writing on specific subjects around. And charge for it.

I wrote an article that I cringe at now. Kyle has said what I would have said if I were more articulate and my thoughts on the subject were more cohesive.

The answer for newspapers is actually very straightforward, I won’t say simple. Find what you do best; sports, politics, whatever. Do that well, and then charge for access to the bulk of it.
