Arts in Medicine

I was approached by the University of Washington School of Medicine Humanities Council, a student lead interest group with faculty advisors, to create a website featuring the creative outlets of medical students. As the husband of a current med student I can attest to the need for any sort of non-graded release. It was clear that in order to properly showcase student work, such as photography, painting, music, performance, writing, etc., the website design needed to be strictly ordered while at the same time unobtrusive. The website also needed to be usable on a variety of devices, med students are heavy smart phone users, and simple to administer with minimal training. These design and technological guidelines provided a clear starting place and the answer came quickly.
